My name's Lynx, I'm a 17 year old boy. As obvious by the site you're on, I am a massive fan of RPG Horror games. Other major interests of mine are vocaloid, which is my main interest other than the subject of this website, art, shingeki no kyojin, dolls, and I am a general lover of cute things. Also, I'm transgender and gay with a very perfect (if sometimes evil) boyfriend of nearly 3 years. If you are curious as to what I look like, I have attached a Very Real selfie below.
I think my first experience with RPG games must have been with Mogeko Castle. I was around 10 at the time when I watched a popular youtuber play it. Kind of fucked up reflecting on my age at the time as well as the content of the game, but without it I wouldn't have gotten such a strong love of the genre. Horror has always attracted me, I was a creepypasta kid at the ripe age of 7, so seeing this world of games that were full of horror, anime-esque artstyles, engaging stories, branching paths and above all made by small creators excited me greatly even back then.
As a kid, the concept of multiple endings in games intrugued me, and they do even now. You have games like Undertale, Life is Strange, and Telltale's The Wakling Dead to thank for that. Choice based gameplay and branching endings are often a key component in rpg horror games, so when I found Ib, a game with a lot of endings, I was hooked.
If you were to ask me my favorite RPG game, I would struggle. It really depends on the day of the week. However, I have a lot of affection for Dreaming Mary. I believe its graphics and soundtrack are near unchallenged in the genre, and after playing it as a child, I was obsessed. So obsessed that I used to go by the name Mari online. From there, I discovered harmonicblend and trass's music, the composter of Dreaming Mary's ost, which still holds a great place in my heart. Most of this site is themed around their album Cerulean Monorainbow, by the way. Also, "I love Eight Dancing Pepens Now"... Is that how it goes?
I have always had a great respect for RPGmaker games. Yes, most are held together by ducktape, may have questionable writing at times, and may come off as amateurish, - but that's what I love about them. RPGmaker's accesibility has created a scene where anyone with enough patience can tell a story. And I think that's wonderful.
